New Year’s

Today is the first day of 2018. It kind of has me a bit screwed up because the first few months of the year always seem to go by faster than the other months and I don’t want my exchange to come to an end. One of my oldies is leaving in 11 days and it’s a sobering thought that eventually I am going to have to go home. I don’t want to go home. I don’t want to have to leave all of my friends here. Nevertheless I’ve had a ton of fun in the last few days of 2017. I visited my host mom’s family in France for Christmas. For two days we were in Lyon, and after that we were in Pontamur, a small village. Personally, I thought Lyon was far more pretty than Paris. Lyon seems more quiet and lots of old buildings and churches that fill the air with the sound of bells. The city just manages to mix new and old buildings and architecture.
